Our Story

Warm Traditions

Traudl’s was born from the idea of bringing my grandmother’s Kaiserschmarrn from a small town in the south of Austria to the rest of the world. Traudl herself was born in Graz, Austria in 1938.

Kaiserschmarrn or “Emperor’s mess”  is a simple dish that somehow held our family’s stories, jokes, and quiet moments all in one pan. Her “Emperor’s mess” was never a dessert and certainly not just a pancake, but an all‑day dish enjoyed in every season—at home, after a long day, or on the ski slopes in the Alps, always shared with friends and family around the table. Traudl’s brings that spirit to New York, serving authentic Kaiserschmarrn as a warm, made‑to‑order experience that celebrates tradition, togetherness, and the joy of something beautifully simple.
